The Righteous Perverts (RP) meets online every Wednesday night for a chance to meet authors and to chat.
I could not wait for this weekend to happen, not only would I be meeting people I have been talking to for the last couple of years, but also some authors I have read. Some of these ladies I have been talking to since 2009, through the now defunked Sherrilyn Kenyon BBS.
The weekend when Tara arrived a few days early to meet me and visit for a couple of days before we went to Dallas/Fort Worth. Friday of Fig Fest, we headed to Dallas/Fort Worth airport, using Tara's trusty Garmin, to pick up Ashley from the airport. On the way there we got a call that Marcy's flight had been delayed and could we pick her up no problem same airport. After we picked them up, we went to the hotel and checked in. Then we were off to meet the group at the Cattlemen's Steakhouse at the Ft. Worth Stockyards. As we headed to restaurant, we noticed several signs for a Hog Rally, as well as many bikers around . What a weekend to have the RPer's in Ft.Worth!
At the restaurant we met up with fellow RPer's Tina, Luna, Kimmi and her daughter Kacee, Tammy and her daughter Miranda, Lisa and her husband, author Heather Rainier and her husband, and author Mia Ashlinn. After we finished eating, we all headed back to the hotel. Some of the group changed clothes and met back in the lobby, where we talked and asked the authors questions. Then i decided to bring out B.A.D.(Big Ass Dick).

Random people came over when B.A.D. came out of the box. One lady asked if we were a bridal shower. Tina or Tara told her we were the Righteous Perverts online group. She told us that she was with the HOARs, Harley Owners and Riders. Only that weekend was it be cool to be a perv in Ft. Worth. After hours of sitting and chatting in the lobby, we made plans meet at 12:30pm to head to Los Vaqueros for the First Annual Fig Fest Author Lunch.
Lunch was awesome. In addition to Heather and Mia, other authors joined us. Including Kris Cook (the founder of our group), Sophie Oak (and her assistant Chloe), Shayla Black, and Heather Long. Many of the authors also brought their other halves with them. Since it was a Mexican restaurant and it was Cinco De Mayo, we had tacos and margaritas. Nothing was better for this reader than being able to talk to best selling authors. After we ate, the authors held giveaways. I won $100 in gift cards and a signed book from Sophie Oak. Once the giveaways were complete, we took pictures and chatted some more.
Our luncheon ended too soon. Those of us staying at the hotel went back to take naps or do whatever until that evening. We had a good dinner at the hotel. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Heather Rainier picking up the tab.
After dinner, we went to downtown Ft. Worth to The Velvet Box, an adult store. After messing around there, we headed back to the stockyards to join the bar scene. We tried Fithy McNasty's Saloon, but it was too busy. Most of the bars were packed. We did go in to Pearl's Dance Hall and Saloon, an old fashioned honky tonk, where Mr. Rainier and Heather two-stepped. Mr. Rainier tried to get some of the cowboys to dance with us ladies. He did dance with Luna, who made it all the way down from Canada for this and experienced several other treats including going to a Sonic. When we were tired of the bar, we went back to the hotel and chatted in the lobby well in the wee hours of the night.
After spending time with this group, I can say that they are not just friends, but family.
